PLANNING RESEARCH & STATISTICS DEPARTMENT

Functions of the department include:

1. Conducting researches on education, particularly teacher education.
2. Coordination of research work on teacher education.
3. Responsible for analysing and producing statistical data arising from the operations of the commission and Colleges of Education.
4. Consider research fund for the Commission and for Colleges of Education.
5. Maintaining the Computer Services of the Commission including Internet services.
6. Undertaking periodic reviews of policies and research findings on teacher education.
7. Making recommendations on the National Policy necessary for the full development of teacher education and the training of teachers.
8. Proposing academic plans for policies and their implementation.
9. Handling the Commission’s national Confrences.
10. Handling the publication of the Commission Journal, The Nigerian Teacher Today (TNTT).
11. Production of NCCE’s Newsletter, News briefs, Monographs, Brochures, etc.
12. Making of all the Commission’s publications.
13. Any other schedule as may be referred to it from time to time.
